Nigerian Afrobeats icon Tiwa Savage has launched the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, a philanthropic initiative aimed at developing and empowering the next generation of music talent across Africa. The foundation, announced on 25 February 2026, is designed to provide aspiring musicians, producers, songwriters, sound engineers and other creative professionals with access to world‑class training, mentorship and industry resources — addressing long‑standing gaps in music education on the continent.
At the heart of the foundation’s debut efforts is a partnership with Berklee College of Music in the United States, Savage’s own alma mater, to bring the Berklee in Nigeria: Tiwa Savage Intensive Music Program to Lagos from 23‑26 April 2026. The four‑day intensive will offer fully funded training in areas such as music production, songwriting, performance and the business side of the industry to 100 selected participants. Organisers say the programme also aims to connect emerging creatives directly with professionals and global teaching methods — an opportunity rarely available within Africa.
Speaking on the launch, Savage emphasised that talent alone isn’t enough without access to structured education and industry insight. She highlighted that Afrobeats’ global rise presents a chance to build stronger support systems behind artists and other creatives, helping them turn passion into sustainable careers. Beyond the flagship initiative, the foundation’s long‑term goal includes expanding professional pathways and potentially establishing permanent educational platforms on the continent.
