Professor Hassan Ammor, Director of the Technology Innovation Center at Mohammedia School of Engineers, won a silver medal at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF 2025) held in Santa Clara, California, from August 8 to 10. He is the first Arab and African researcher to receive this honor.
Ammor's award-winning project, "A New Smart Microwave Imaging Scanner for Breast Cancer Detection," was developed with Dr. Radouane Karli. The compact, non-invasive device offers an accessible way to detect breast cancer early, a leading cause of death among women globally.
Ammor expressed that the recognition is not only a personal achievement but a source of pride for his team, university, and country.
He stated that this achievement proves Morocco can compete with the world’s leading nations in innovation.
