Students across Morocco have raised concerns about the delay in the announcement of master’s program admission results. Several university departments have reported unusual delays and confusion this year, following the introduction of new educational regulations.

SNRT News spoke to one department head who explained that many master’s programs are still awaiting official approval after minor adjustments were made to their program descriptions to align with the new rules. While some universities have already listed students eligible for written exams, they are withholding the publication of results in case further adjustments are required.

A master’s program coordinator mentioned that, although third-semester classes have already begun, studies for the newly approved master’s programs are still on hold—two weeks into October. Some institutions delayed opening their application periods until final approvals were received, with applications only starting to be accepted in early October.

However, not all officials view the situation as a delay. Yassine Zaghloul, president of Hassan First University in Oujda, clarified that there has been no disruption in the approval process. He explained that teaching teams made adjustments to about 20% of the master’s programs, which were then approved by university committees and councils before being sent to the Ministry.

Zaghloul further stated that the National Agency for Evaluation and Quality Assurance carefully evaluates each file before giving final approval. He emphasized that the new program rules were uploaded online by the end of July and that most master’s programs usually begin in November, meaning the delay is not significant.

A Ministry official confirmed to SNRT News that the evaluation agency is operating as expected, with universities being notified of the results once assessments are completed.

The National Agency for Evaluation and Quality Assurance is composed of management bodies, technical committees, and subject-specific panels. Experts are selected based on their qualifications and recognized competence in training, research, and technical fields.
