Mohammedia – Morocco’s Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE) has released its 2024 activity report, which was presented during the agency’s 10th Board of Directors meeting on September 10, 2025. Chaired by Minister Karim Zidane, the session reviewed AMDIE’s accomplishments in attracting investments and promoting exports, marking a year of substantial growth for Morocco’s economy.

The agency’s efforts align with the vision of King Mohammed VI, emphasizing Morocco's role as both an investment hub and a competitive global export platform. This strategy integrates economic reforms with goals for inclusive growth, the green transition, and job creation, particularly for youth and Moroccans abroad.

In 2024, AMDIE launched an ambitious promotional campaign, organizing 114 initiatives across 26 international and domestic markets. These efforts bolstered Morocco’s global visibility and fostered new strategic partnerships.

Additionally, the agency hosted 129 visits from foreign delegations representing 34 countries. These visits largely focused on the automotive industry, Morocco’s flagship sector, while showing increasing interest in textiles, energy, and mining. These engagements underscored Morocco’s strengths in infrastructure, skilled labor, and strategic geographic positioning.

The year also saw a surge in investment commitments. The National Investment Commission convened four times, approving 131 agreements for both public and private projects, which together represented nearly MAD 200 billion ($22.25 billion) in planned investments, reflecting strong investor confidence in Morocco’s long-term strategy.

Growth was also evident in key sectors such as renewable energy, aeronautics, pharmaceuticals, and tourism, all of which are vital to Morocco’s future competitiveness.

Exports remained a central focus. Through initiatives like “Export Morocco Now 2024–2026” and “Export Morocco Now Women,” AMDIE supported 312 companies and cooperatives. These programs included 68 promotional activities across 28 markets, offering Moroccan businesses wider access to global buyers. The programs also highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs and small-scale producers as part of an inclusive economic development strategy.

Furthermore, AMDIE enhanced its outreach to the Moroccan diaspora, hosting meetings and webinars in over ten countries to connect professionals abroad with opportunities in Morocco. By leveraging the expertise and networks of the diaspora, Morocco aims to create a stronger link between its economy and global markets.

Looking ahead, AMDIE will continue executing its 2024–2026 roadmap, which prioritizes:

  1. Comprehensive support for both national and foreign investors, with a focus on Moroccans abroad.
  2. Increased support for exporters and diversification of foreign markets.
  3. The development of trade fairs and exhibitions as international promotion platforms.
  4. Expansion of economic activity zones to attract businesses and drive regional development.

The 2024 results demonstrate Morocco’s advancement toward building a more resilient, competitive, and sustainable economy. By combining strategic promotion, investment facilitation, and export support, AMDIE is positioning Morocco as one of Africa's most dynamic destinations for global investors and traders.
