Namibia has launched a pilot project to develop a blueprint for AI-assisted learning, supported by national telecom operator Telecom Namibia. The five-month research project, called the YYeni AI Luderitz Pilot, began in July at Luderitz Secondary School in southwestern Namibia. The initiative aims to create a scalable model for integrating AI tutoring with traditional teacher-led instruction in the country's public education system.

Stanley Shanapinda, CEO of Telecom Namibia, emphasized the company's pride in contributing to youth empowerment and digital innovation. He highlighted the project’s goal of driving progress through reliable, high-speed connectivity.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts, and Culture, the long-term objective is to expand the model to 25 schools and reach 2,500 learners by 2026.
