The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has announced that the annual Kampala Hills Run, initially scheduled for Sunday, October 12, will now be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, due to unforeseen circumstances. However, all other arrangements for the event will remain the same.
Barbra Teddy Arimi, NSSF's Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, reassured stakeholders that the new date would not affect the event’s objectives or activities.
“While we understand the inconvenience this change may cause to our partners and the public, we believe it also provides an opportunity for even greater participation. We encourage both our long-time partners and the general public to join us in supporting the education sector by purchasing a kit for Shs 35,000 and taking part in this meaningful cause,” Arimi said. She also expressed gratitude to those who have already pledged their support.
The event, organized in partnership with MTN, Housing Finance Bank, and Next Media, has garnered a wide range of corporate partners.
Notable partners include Vision Group, Nation Media, Star Times, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of Uganda, Sybil, SMS Construction, Centenary Bank, Insurance Regulatory Authority, Clarkson Brokers, Crown Beverages, Yo Uganda, Victoria Hospital, Uganda Clays Limited, and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, among others.
The NSSF Kampala Hills Run aims to raise funds to improve learning conditions in public primary schools by refurbishing classrooms, upgrading sanitation facilities, and promoting digital literacy.
Since its launch, the initiative has facilitated the renovation of 25 primary schools nationwide, benefiting over 40,000 students daily. These efforts have led to a 12% increase in enrolment and a 10% reduction in dropout rates among the schools that have received support.
