A landmark Pan-African tourism expedition has officially launched from Abuja, Nigeria, marking a bold step toward continental unity, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. The “Tourism Across Africa Project,” spearheaded by Jet Age Nation Builders, began its journey on October 1, 2025, with a diverse delegation traveling by land to Ethiopia. This month-long expedition is both symbolic and strategic, designed to strengthen regional integration and celebrate Africa’s shared heritage. It aligns with the African Union’s Agenda 2063, which envisions a prosperous, interconnected continent driven by cultural diplomacy, peace, and inclusive growth. Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Legesse Geremew, hailed the initiative as a timely and constructive move to deepen African unity through tourism.

Throughout the journey, participants will traverse seven African nations, engaging with local communities, showcasing investment opportunities in the tourism sector, and highlighting the continent’s rich cultural landscapes. The delegation includes cultural custodians, youth leaders, entrepreneurs, and public-private stakeholders committed to advancing Africa’s development goals. Far from being a ceremonial road trip, the expedition serves as a practical demonstration of how tourism can foster collaboration, mutual understanding, and economic transformation. It also provides a platform for storytelling, with citizen journalists and Goodwill Ambassadors documenting the experience and amplifying Africa’s voice.

Strategic partners such as Thuraya, Tsat Telecommunications, and Zuma Coffee have joined the initiative not as sponsors, but as co-authors of a new African narrative. Their involvement underscores the power of public-private partnerships in driving transformation across the continent. These collaborations are rooted in African traditions of communal ownership and reciprocal exchange, now reimagined to deliver modern infrastructure, job creation, and inclusive growth. The expedition’s emphasis on partnership reflects a broader shift toward African-led solutions and self-determined progress.

The delegation is expected to arrive in Addis Ababa on October 27, where they will be welcomed by Ambassador Dr. Young Piero Omatseye, Director of Parliament for Africa and a key architect of the AU Agenda 2063 simulation. From October 28 to 31, the African Union PPP and Stakeholders Summit will convene in Addis Ababa, bringing together former heads of state, commissioners, innovators, and cultural leaders under the theme “Africa, The Global Powerhouse of the Future.” This summit will serve as the culmination of the expedition, transforming a symbolic journey into a strategic platform for continental collaboration and visionary planning.

This Pan-African tourism drive is more than a journey, it is a continental handshake between vision and execution. It affirms that Africa’s borders are not barriers but bridges, and that its heritage is not buried but rising. As the convoy moves from Nigeria to Ethiopia, it carries with it the hopes of a continent ready to lead, build, and thrive together. The expedition stands as a testament to Africa’s resilience, creativity, and unity, offering a powerful reminder that the road to renewal begins with shared purpose and collective action.
