Uganda has reached a notable milestone in its education sector with the official release of the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education results. More than 166,000 candidates sat for the national examinations, and about 68.6% qualified for university admission, reflecting a strong academic performance across the country.

Education officials say the results highlight steady progress in the nation’s secondary education system, with many students demonstrating improved performance in key subjects. The outcome is seen as a positive sign for Uganda’s education reforms and continued investment in learning institutions and teacher development.

Analysts note that the success of a large proportion of candidates strengthens the country’s pipeline of skilled young people ready for higher education and professional training. As more students qualify for university, institutions are expected to prepare for increased enrollment and expanded academic opportunities.

The milestone also underscores the critical role education plays in shaping Africa’s future workforce, with Uganda’s youth seen as a major driver of innovation, economic growth, and social transformation across the continent.
