KAMPALA, Uganda | Uganda has confirmed its readiness to host the 15th Edition of the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games, with key logistical, medical, and venue preparations finalized ahead of the December kickoff.
According to the Local Organizing Committee chaired by Bugiri Municipality MP Hon. Asuman Basalirwa, all sporting venues have been inspected and approved, while medical and hospitality partnerships have been secured.
“We are ready to host East Africa. Uganda is prepared both in facilities and spirit, and we look forward to welcoming our brothers and sisters from the region,” Basalirwa said on Monday, November 3, 2025. “A list of hotels for all delegates has been finalized and shared.”
The games will take place from December 5–17, 2025, across multiple venues in Kampala including Philip Omondi Stadium (Lugogo), Hams Stadium, Wankulukuku Stadium, Kyambogo University, Makerere University, and Namboole Stadium. Golf events will be hosted at Kampala Golf Club and Serena Golf Resort, Kigo.
Basalirwa also confirmed that major hospitals such as Kampala Hospital, Nakasero, Aga Khan, IHK, Mulago, and Nsambya will provide medical support during the tournament.
“These hospitals have agreed to partner with us to ensure full medical readiness throughout the games,” he added.
All fixtures will soon be released, and admission will be free to the public a gesture aimed at encouraging community participation and regional unity.
Uganda’s Parliament, the defending champion, has expressed determination to retain its crown.
“We cannot afford to lose on home soil,” Basalirwa noted. “Even with a tight national electoral schedule, our teams are training hard to stay on top.”
Delegations from Kenya, South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) have confirmed participation under the theme, “One Region, One Community: Advancing Integration through Parliaments and Sports.”
Kenya’s representative, Vincent Kawaya, stated that both the National Assembly and Senate will compete in all eight disciplines.
“We’ll take as many trophies as possible, but above all, these games strengthen the unity that defines our region,” Kawaya said.
South Sudan’s team also commended Uganda’s organizational efficiency and confirmed participation in all events.
The EALA Secretariat encouraged East Africans to attend in large numbers, describing the games as a platform that “deepens, widens, and strengthens regional integration.”
